Pre seasono OS Pub Recon
The season is fast approaching and I'm still not sure of the boozer of choice for the OS, so a few of us are planning a Saturday session in a few weeks to test the local drinking houses in the Bow/Hackney Wick/Stratford area

Anyone got any suggestions?

Rob Jenkins the old physio lived behind the Fleece, he was always in there

The revamped Earl Of Essex? What the big boozer on Manor Park Broadway? That's been boarded up for years?
What about the Cart and Horses at Maryland Point. I also used the Baytree for years, back when it was Eamon and Breeda running it. Blinding pub looking forward to having a wander back in there next season.
I just wanna know where all the div's who went the Boleyn are drinking so I can avoid....

Recently revisited the fleece after a very long absence!great pub and very well looked after. Not many local bar staff and slightly poncy. It is surprisingly a good 40 min journey to the stadium according to google maps and recommends a bus!! Might be more suitable for after the game

Thanks for the feedback... Even if I tried half of the suggestions as a trial run, I'd be ball bagged before dark.

I used to live in Romford, so I know what a gash hole that is!!

Eddie - pleased to report I am not a 'little person' so will I avoid the Lighthouse

The Wentworth, Mile End. Only small boozer but old school.

Also a fucking shit tip.

One pub ive never sen mentioned is the great Golden Fleece on on Wanstead flats, not too far from manor Park station. There's also the Blakesley there and the revamped Earl of Essex.

Romford is only ten minutes on the train and has a plethora of puic houses

Re: Pre seasono OS Pub Recon
Trust me it dangerous. Bad people go there. They also have a tendency to piss in your drink if you're not local. Avoid.

The south marsh dressing rooms have a bar upstairs and terrace... open when games are being played there at least, i believe... cheap beer too, though if that lasts with additional patronage will need to be seen.. council run... http://www.hackneyvenues.com/hackney-marshes-centre/
